RIP Maurice Sendak

I had a post planned for today, but then I saw very sad news from the New York Times online. Maurice Sendak, children's author and illustrator, has passed away at the age of 83.

His work has meant so much to adults and children alike  (and will continue to do so).

  6. Maurice Sendak was one of a kind. His death leaves such a hole in the world of children's writing - but weren't we lucky to have him?

  7. Interestingly, my son went to my "private collection" of hardback picture books last night and got Where the Wild Things Are off the shelf. I thought it was weird because he's never cared for this book. I think it was a sign. *Just kidding.*

  11. Wild Things was seriously the first book to ever spark my imagination. I'm a sucker for visually enhanced stories even as an adult (comics are a guilty pleasure to this day), and I owe much of it to Sendak.

    RIP
