A more substantial downfall should hit this Saturday, when I get to drive to Denver to go see/meet Maggie Stiefvater (Shiver/Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, The Scorpio Races, The Raven Boys) and Brenna Yovanoff (The Replacement, The Space Between) at a book signing!
Fabulous blog PUB(lishing) CRAWL just posted a bunch of October releases to keep an eye on. Since I'm partial to MG, I'll tease you with these three covers:
Click HERE to see the rest of the titles, and stay warm this weekend!
It's supposed to be 89 degrees here today ... and I think that snow looks wonderful! :-)
ReplyDeleteYipes, I guess I didn't need to tell you to stay warm :)
DeleteSnow? Burrrr. We had a cold front go through yesterday. (It was 78 yesterday) Only a high in the forties today. Very fallish. The leaves are changing 2 weeks early.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those weird years here where some deciduous trees are still green and others have changed and are nearly bare. 78 sounds hot :) We're scheduled to get back into the 60s next week (in case you wanted more of a weather report :))
DeleteSnow? Oh no! I'm not ready for snow, for quite a while!
ReplyDeleteAnd have fun in Denver at the signings.
I'm not sure if I'm ready either...especially since it can now snow anytime between now and next May. And thanks~ I'm looking forward to the signings!
DeleteWe were scheduled for snow, but it passed over us and my daughter got 3 inches! Snow is still in the forecast for us, too!
ReplyDeleteExciting, huh? Maybe not super exciting for us drivers, since it means the beginning of car-scraping season, but it's fun to see my litte one's reaction to the snow :)
DeletePS~ I can't figure out how to comment on your blog~ can you point out the right place to look???
DeleteI love the fall but I'm not quite ready for snow. Though we could use the moisture here.
ReplyDeleteLove those book covers.
Aren't they great? I hadn't seen the one for Lauren Oliver's Spindlers~ love it!
DeleteI LOVE first snowfalls! I don't get to see many in Egypt though. lol
ReplyDeleteBundle up and keep those Swiss Miss packets coming - congrats on it being for two! How exciting! :-D
KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES is my Friday read. I'm not normally a die-hard MG fan. I do enjoy it, but with so little free time, I find myself struggling just to read the YA books I've got piling up. But KEEPER sounds too good to pass up. Plus, Shannon Messenger is hilarious. It's a win-win. :)
ReplyDeleteYour reference to Swiss Miss has me jonesing for some! But NY is super warm today. Go figure.
Can't wait to read KEEPER :)
DeleteIT SNOWED THERE!!! OMG. Well, at least you got hot chocolate out of it:)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely :) Lots and lots of hot chocolate.
DeleteI've read a couple of Maggie Stiefvater's books--great talent. Enjoy the booksigning :-) And snow? Oh, no. Not yet!
ReplyDeleteI love it...except for the car-scraping.
DeleteIt's 80 degrees here. No snow yet, but I may have to have some hot chocolate now that you mention it. Have fun at the book signing. It sounds awesome!
ReplyDelete80 degrees? Man, I'd be melting if it was 80 degrees in October! I wonder if iced hot chocolate is any good? I guess that's kind of like chocolate milk...
DeleteHere in Texas, still a bit to warm for snow, but you need not justify drinking lots and lots of hot chocolate. Enjoy it for general purposes :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the titles, by the way. Just updated my TBR list. Have a great weekend.
Have a good weekend, too!
Delete>sigh< snow...
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the snow~ it's the ice that gets to me.
Deleteoh no! Snow! I m not ready for that yet and am glad it's warm enough here for me to have my door open. Plus it's pumpkinfest this weekend and I need good weather take good piccies!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your hot cocoa :)
Oooo, Pumpkinfest! Yes, gets lots of photos!
DeleteJealous of your snow and boots. Still way too unseasonably hot here in SoCal. Ugh. Thanks for the heads-up about the new titles!
ReplyDeleteShelley
And have fun meeting Maggie. She is a lit-hero of mine.
I'll tell her you said hi ;)
DeleteCongratulations on your baby! And, yes, definitely drink hot chocolate for two. My parents were in your area this weekend, and they said it was so snowy and the streets were horrible. You need all the warmth you can get. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree - those covers look fantastic! So many great books in the fall lineup!
Aaaaand now it's Monday and it was sunny and much warmer. That's Colorado for you :)
DeleteSnow?! You can have it, lol. Hot cocoa and Maggie will do the trick!
ReplyDeleteps I tagged you in the "look" challenge :)
Maggie was hilarious!! And Brenna was great, too :) Thanks for the tag!
DeleteWe got a dusting of snow, too. OOOOO tell us more about Maggie and Brenna. Did they talk at all??
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm getting ready to place a book order for three new releases: Keeper of the Lost Cities and two YA's, Stormdancer and What's Left of Me. Yay for Shannon Messenger!
